The Montecito Journal--The Voice of the Village--is published twice a month in Montecito, California.

Editor/Publisher Jim Buckley refers to his paper as the "Best Little Paper in America, Covering the Best Little Community Anywhere."

And he may be right. Situated between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, just 90 miles north of Hollywood, Montecito is a community of nearly 10,000 and home to numerous television and feature film personalities, as well as the elite of the greater Santa Barbara, California area. Houses range in price from $800,000 to over $10 million!

But it is not an overly pretentious community. Indeed, many of it's most famous residents, including Oprah, Rob Lowe, Jonathan Winters, Dennis Franz, Fannie Flagg and Sue Grafton devote countless hours to community service and MC many Santa Barbara and Montecito functions.

The Journal features positive news about this small but extremely influential corner of the world. It covers fashion, design, real estate, business, travel, society events, new businesses and those already in business, local movers and shakers, food, restaurants, activities in local schools, books, authors, plays, film, art and all the other things that contribute to making a community vibrant and alive.

But best of all, the Journal features two humor writers. The extremely funny Jim Alexander's column, n.o.t.e.s. from downtown, is in the issue that comes out on the 16th of every month, and my column, Ernie's World, is in the issue that comes out on the 1st of every month.

The Montecito Journal was founded in October 1995. Since its establishment, the Journal has grown from an initial distribution of 5,000 every six weeks to 16,000 twice a month. It is distributed free of charge throughout Montecito, Santa Barbara and Summerland. Home delivery is available in Montecito for $25 per year. It is also available by First Class Mail
for $75 per year.

The Santa Ynez Valley Journal is published once a month, also by Editor/Publisher Jim Buckley.

It serves the Santa Ynez Valley famous for its many award-winning wineries. The Valley has also been used as a location for many movies, including Seabiscut and Sideways (due out in Fall 04). Look for yours truly in the background in the golf course scene.

The Valley is the home of many Thoroughbred farms and has its share of famous and infamous residents, including Michael Jackson, David Crosby, Fess Parker, Noah Wyle and more.

Like the Montecito Journal, the Santa Ynez Valley Journal features positive news about this small but extremely influential corner of the world. It covers real estate, politics, society events, new businesses and those already in business, local movers and shakers, food, restaurants, activities in local schools, books, authors, plays, film, art and all the other things that contribute to making a community vibrant and alive.
